China industrial membrane second-source qualification

Qualify a reliable second source before you need it.

Evidence-led supplier qualification and RFQ coordination for overseas membrane distributors and water-treatment EPCs.

Not a listing marketplace.

MembraLink is an expert-led qualification and commercial-coordination service. We do not certify products, guarantee destination approval or claim affiliation with a manufacturer unless that relationship is confirmed in writing.

Who we serve

Built for buyers who need supply resilience, not another catalogue.

Your primary supplier does not need to fail before you qualify a second source. The right time to review evidence, samples, terms and response discipline is before a shortage, tender deadline or replacement cycle.

Overseas distributors & wholesalers

Add a qualified backup line without disrupting your current portfolio.

We structure the commercial and evidence review around repeat sales, channel fit and supply continuity.

  • Model and application coverage
  • MOQ, price structure, lead time and packaging
  • Sample plan and repeat-order controls
  • Batch-document and warranty route

Water-treatment EPCs & system integrators

Qualify project supply against the duty, documents and deadline.

We organise the RFQ around your feedwater, operating envelope, target permeate and acceptance requirements.

  • Installed format or new-project duty
  • Manufacturer-origin technical documents
  • Deviation and clarification register
  • Sample, inspection and delivery milestones

Service fit: recurring distributor demand, planned second-source qualification, industrial replacement programmes and EPC projects with a defined specification. One-off retail and household-membrane enquiries are outside the core service.

Why a second source fails

A quotation is not a qualified supply option.

Price becomes meaningful only after the supplier, product evidence, response process and delivery route survive review.

1

Unverified source

A company profile or marketplace page does not prove manufacturing identity, production discipline, capacity or export responsibility.

2

Untraceable product

A sample can perform well and still tell you little about repeat supply unless its model, batch, serial, test record and production date connect.

3

Slow, fragmented RFQ

Commercial, technical and document questions handled by separate people create contradictions, missed deadlines and unpriced risk.

What MembraLink does

Five disciplines behind a credible second source.

The website starts the conversation. The service is delivered through evidence, coordination and principal-level judgement.

Source profile

Legal identity, manufacturing role, production capability, quality controls and export-document responsibility.

Product evidence

Model datasheet, stated test conditions, sample path, serial and batch traceability, certificate scope and validity.

RFQ discipline

One structured brief covering duty, quantity, documents, destination, commercial terms, deadline and open questions.

Trade review

Contracting party, payment milestones, inspection, shipping documents, warranty route and buyer acceptance.

Principal judgement

Jeff reviews what the factory can realistically promise, where the transaction can fail and what still needs proof.

What you receive

A decision file, not a supplier dump.

The output is organised so commercial, technical and management teams can see the same evidence and the same unresolved risks.

WorkstreamWhat the file recordsWhy it matters
Supplier profileIdentity, manufacturing role, facilities, product scope, QC process and named contacts.Separates manufacturer evidence from reseller claims.
Product matrixModel, application, format, manufacturer-stated test conditions, documentation status and open items.Prevents a nominal cross-reference from becoming an unsupported equivalence claim.
Sample & batch trailSample identifier, batch/serial information, supplied test records, buyer test result and disposition.Connects qualification work to the product later ordered.
Commercial matrixMOQ, price validity, lead time, packaging, Incoterm, payment milestones and repeat-order conditions.Tests whether the second source can work beyond a one-time sample.
Risk registerVerified, pending and unavailable items; deviations; responsible party; decision deadline.Makes uncertainty visible before commitment.

Industrial membrane scope

Qualification starts from the application, not a generic claim of equivalence.

Exact models, performance, certificates and availability are confirmed against manufacturer-origin documents for each RFQ.

Industrial RO

Brackish-water RO

Standard and low-energy elements for industrial process water, municipal duty and planned replacement programmes.

Industrial reuse

Fouling-resistant RO

Options reviewed against pretreatment, foulant load, cleaning history, spacer design and recovery target.

Desalination

Seawater RO

Project-specific review of salinity, temperature, boron requirement, system configuration and manufacturer evidence.

Pretreatment & separation

NF and UF

Screened where hardness, organics, colour, suspended solids or upstream RO protection defines the duty.

A model cross-reference is not treated as proof of fit or performance. Dimensional fit and operating suitability are reviewed against the buyer’s data and the proposed manufacturer’s stated test conditions.

How it works

From second-source brief to controlled trial order.

Define the need

Buyer type, installed model or project duty, quantity, destination, documents and deadline.

Build the evidence file

Collect supplier, product, quality, commercial and export information; mark every open item.

Review the RFQ

Align technical questions, commercial terms, certificate scope, deviations and response ownership.

Qualify the sample

Connect sample identity and batch documents to buyer testing, inspection or pilot acceptance.

Control the order

Confirm contract, payment, batch, shipping documents, warranty route and repeat-order conditions.

Expert-led execution

Jeff Chow reviews the promise behind the quotation.

Jeff has spent more than three decades on the factory and international-trade side of cross-border business. He has owned and operated export factories, worked under demanding buyer quality systems and negotiated with Chinese manufacturers as an owner, not as a web-platform operator.

For MembraLink, he applies that experience to supplier capability, quality discipline, transaction structure and cross-border risk. The role of the website is to establish context and collect a structured RFQ. The critical judgement stays with a responsible person.

Good questions

What buyers should clarify before qualification begins.

Does MembraLink replace our current supplier?
No. The service is designed to qualify a second source alongside your existing supply strategy. Whether and when to allocate volume remains your commercial decision.
Is MembraLink an independent certification body?
No. MembraLink is commercially involved in sourcing and coordination. We collect and organise supplier evidence, mark unresolved items and support buyer review; we do not certify products or guarantee approval.
Can you confirm whether a proposed element fits our installed system?
Fit is reviewed case by case. We examine installed format, operating data, feedwater, target permeate and cleaning history against manufacturer-origin information before a model is proposed.
What should an initial RFQ include?
Buyer type, destination, installed model or application, quantity, deadline, required certifications or documents, available feedwater analysis and any mandatory acceptance criteria.
How are manufacturer documents presented?
Documents remain attributable to the manufacturer or issuing body. Their holder, model scope, standard, certificate number, validity and unresolved gaps are recorded where available.
Can you support a distributor trial order?
Yes. The qualification plan can cover sample identity, buyer testing, MOQ, packaging, batch documents, lead time, repeat-order terms and the warranty route. Final terms are confirmed in the formal quotation and contract.
Start the qualification

Send the requirement, not just a model number.

The more context you provide, the faster we can identify document gaps and structure a useful response.

  • Distributor and EPC enquiries receive different review paths.
  • Open questions are recorded rather than filled with assumptions.
  • Manufacturer documents remain attributed to their issuer.
  • Sensitive files are requested only after we confirm your enquiry.
